House of Gemini is currently researching the asteroid Medusa, and the associated fixed star Algol, and looking for participants to take part in the Research Project. I am looking for participants with astrological knowledge.
The project will take the form of a deep dive into the archetypal energies of Medusa and Algol.

Medusa is a small, bright coloured asteroid located in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. She is associated with being wronged, not being believed, and victim blaming. Medusa represents where we may fall into victimhood, but she is much more than that. She represents the part of the psyche that refuses to internalise the shame and blame that is being projected onto us from others. This projection is often around themes of power and social standing. She marks the transcendence of social narratives that seek to disempower us.
Empowerment with the archetype of Medusa comes from creating and maintaining strong boundaries. The violation of the boundaries established through Medusa is felt intensely. We risk losing our
power if we unleash this rage. Medusa teaches that we don’t need to lash out, scream or become violent to maintain our
boundaries. Silence and an intense stare is all that is required to turn a perpetrator to stone.
The image is of asteroid 149 Medusa. It is a 3D model based on light curves.

Algol is a three star system in the constellation of Perseus, two of which pass in front of each other causing eclipses. This causes the star to have regular dips in brightness as seem from earth. The star system was named from an abbreviation of its Arabic name, The Demon Head. Algol is the severed head of Medusa. It is associate with trouble, misfortune, rage and obstacles. Algol is pain and injustice that can not be contained. Emotionally raw, there is a transparency and honesty to the explosive response that Algol can evoke.
Whilst Algol is known as the Demon Star, it is said to hold great potential for an individual if the archertype associated with Algol is owned within the psyche and not projected onto others, or othered within the self. If integrated through a spiritual practice it can bestow upon the individual high spiritual rays, that are said to emanate from that system.
The image is an artisticaly overlaid representation of the constellation Perseus, based on real star postions. It is not intended as a precise astronomical star chart, but as a mytho-astronomical visualisation highlighting Algol's traditional placement
